Picture Day!

So, today was picture day and I have to be honest in saying that I was not very excited to take pictures.  I've been having issues with water retention lately, and I just wasn't feeling like I would see any progress.  But, I do have to say that I did see some changes that I liked.  Although not very drastic, I did see some areas that have slimmed and have more definition.  If you ask Damien, he would know just the areas to point out.  I guess I am harder on myself than I should be, and Damien's telling me I should be proud of my progress.

My weight has pretty much remained the same.  I have not gained any weight despite eating as much as I have on this program.  The inches is where I have to say I have seen the most convincing results.  I've lost 3/4 inches in my waist, a whole inch in my hips, and 1/4 inch in my right arm.  I've gained 3/4 inches in my right thigh which leveled out the two legs (one leg was smaller than the other) and 1 inch across my chest.  The rest of my measurements have remained the same.  I'm happy with those results in only 30 days. I know my clothes are fitting better and I like that.

If today was picture day for you too, please share your results (as much as you feel comfortable with).  I'm anxious to hear how everyone has done so far.

  1. I just wanted to add that I am extremely proud of Sara and all of you that have stuck it out to this point. I think her results in just 30 days are something to be proud of. Listen, we are all going to be hard on ourselves. Keep that in mind. But the measurements don’t lie. You have to see that changes are starting! Remember this is not P30X it is P90X!! As for me, well I am not sure what to expect. I didn’t see much in my gains in inches for my arms, chest, back and legs. Actually the measurements stayed the same. I did lose an inch in my waist but the hope for me is to gain more muscle this time through the program. I did gain more definition in my abs and arms so I am happy about that. I lost 3 pounds this round and not the focus will be to add lean muscle in phase 2. My poor scrawny arms and legs need work! Time to up the weight and push myself!

Do not be discouraged by your weight (loss or gain). Your weight might redistribute itself. For example fat from your booty is gone, but toned lean muscle in your arms and back are here now. Muscle weighs more than fat and that explains why your clothes fit you better (or are baggy now) and yet your weight is the same. Get it?

My first time through the program I saw the most gains in the 2nd phase, the phase we are doing now. You may have noticed the workouts are more intense now. Challenge yourself, you might be surprised how much you can do!

Keep up the hard work guys we are almost half way!! Can you believe it?!

  2. I had picture day last monday. In the pictures I notices the most difference in my lower back (love handle area). I feel like the front of my stomach still sticks out like I am pregnant still. So I am now doing classic P90x and adding insanity in the mornings, 3x/week. I know the ab ripper x will help out the mid section for me. I actually didn't take measurements but like you sara, more and more of my pants are fitting me again since having the baby. I am excited that I can feel and see some results. I have a long ways to go to get to my goal but I keep taking it one day at a time, doing my best.
Damien, I also noticed that when I did p90x last year, I didn't see drastic results either until the 2nd phase, so I can't wait to push thru that next month.
Glad you both are staying comitted! "Do your best and forget the rest!"

  3. I'm glad that you shared that with us Elena. I think a lot of people, like me, were expecting to see drastic results within the first phase and got disappointed when the results weren't drastic. I guess there is a reason the program is called P90X and not P30X huh? :)
